Ingleside retirement communities join health care technology revolution

blog-techmed-ikf.jpgIt used to be that when you visited the doctor, he or she wrote everything down on your chart by hand. If you were a long-time patient, your chart could run to many pages. On your next visit, the doctor would have to flip through all of those pages to find information that was recorded on your previous visits.

If your doctor needed to find out about your treatment by another physician, such as a specialist, he or she would have to contact the specialist, and someone at that office would have to flip through your chart to find the answer to your doctor’s questions. And you know what they say about doctors’ handwriting—sometimes they can’t even read their own!

Share a succulent, Chef-prepared luncheon at IKF

Now you can sample the cuisine residents rave about at a Chef Demonstration hosted by Chef Pierre and Registered Dietitian Gloria Murray. You’re invited to share a special dine-and-learn luncheon at 1 p.m. May 20 at Ingleside at King Farm.

Chef Pierre and Gloria will demonstrate preparation of several dishes with fresh, seasonal components and will talk about the health benefits of each ingredient.

Special interfaith service will offer healing prayers

blog-prayer-IKF.jpgYou are invited to a special interfaith service on Thursday, May 7, the National Day of Prayer, at 1 p.m. in the Ingleside at King Farm Multipurpose Room.

The National Day of Prayer is held annually to join people of all faiths in prayer. Ingleside at King Farm has been participating for a couple of years.

“This year, our Spiritual Life Council proposed the theme of healing, so the prayers will be healing prayers from across cultures and religious traditions,” says IKF’s Chaplain, Rev. Richard Thayer. “The prayers will represent the variety of our international and interfaith community.”
