Mary Lou Shields has had a life-long love of art. Originally a west coast gal, she was an art student at San Jose State where she met her husband, a physicist. A position with the Atomic Energy Commission brought them to Washington DC where she has lived ever since.
After a career as an interior designer Mary Lou retired and returned to her first love—painting. Mary Lou is an accomplished artist who has frequent one woman shows in local galleries and at art shows throughout the area. She says the great natural light in her apartment provides an ideal creative space for her in-home studio. Mary Lou has maintained a keen interest in not only creating art through water colors, her favorite medium, but also expanding her skills through ongoing lessons at Montgomery College.
"My calendar is more full than it ever has been. I'm very active here at Ingleside. I enjoy playing Bridge and love the indoor pool and the cultural programs here are excellent."
